Spring is just around the corner and Chi-Hi Softball wants to help you prepare for your upcoming season!

We beleive that if you take care of the little things then big things will happen. Developing the proper fundamentals is the key to success for any ball player.

Come spend a day with us. You will learn some great softball skills and have alot of fun while learning. Take a look below at what our clinics have to offer.

           - Chi-Hi Softball
Pitching Sessions
Grades 3-5  Saturday, April 14, 2012   8am - 10am
Grades 6-8  Saturday, April 14, 2012   10am - 12pm
Cost :  $25

This sessions focus on proper pitching mechanics to gain velocity and accuracy. Older pitchers will be exposed to different pitch types.


Catchers Sessions
Grades 6-8  Saturday, April 14, 2012   8:30am - 10am
Grades 3-5  Saturday, April 14, 2012   10:30am - 12pm
Cost:  $20

This session covers the fundamentals from the stance to the throw down. Covers footwork, throwing technique, blocking, bunt coverage, popups and more. Older players will be drilled on giving signs, framing pitches & executing pickoffs. Glove-to-Glove timing will be emphasized.


Defense/Hitting Combo Sessions
Saturday, April 14, 2012   1pm - 5:30pm
Cost:  $40

Fundamentals of Infield Play - From the Ready Position to making the throw. Covers multiple throwing techniques, Forehand/Backhand fielding techniques, Covering each bag, tagging runners and more. Older players will be drilled on executing double plays, pickoffs & rundowns. Session ends with position specific skills and drills.

Hitting - From the stance to the follow through. Learn to make better contact and increase your power. The clinic staff will take you through each phase of the swing and will provide multiple drills to reinforce each phase. Individual video analysis provided using Right View Pro software.
Parents - You are more than welcome to observe the clinics. As a matter of fact we encourage it! The girls will be exposed to a number of different drills and techiques that they can continue into their upcoming season.

Each session will be limited to 20 participants. The clinics will be held at the Chippewa Falls Senior High School. Both the front and rear gyms will be used along with the school batting cages. Wear comfortable clothes (t-shirt/sweat pants).

Please arrive AT LEAST 15 minutes (30 min preferred) prior to the start of your session to get checked in. The sessions will promptly begin at their designated start times.

Refund Policy:  There will be no refunds after March 27, 2009.

O Glove, Bat, Tennis Shoes (No Cleats), water bottle
O Catchers - You will not need gear for most drills, but bring your own gear if you have it.
O Bring a lunch if you are attending the Pitchers or Catchers Session and also plan on attending the Saturday Defense/Hitting Combo Session.

Jared Faherty
Chi-Hi Varsity Head Coach
Shelly Miller
Chi-Hi Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Miller is in his 11th year as a varsity assistant coach. He has helped coach the Cardinals to 8 Big Rivers Conference Championship titles and 7 WIAA State Tournament appearances.
Prior to joining the Chi-Hi staff Miller spent 4 years coaching summer travel teams and helped guide his teams to an  ASA State Championship title and an ASA National Championship Tournament appearance. He also coached 12 years in the Hallie Girls Softball organization.
Coach Frank is in his 6th year as an assistant varsity coach for Chi-Hi. Prior to joining the Chi-Hi staff Frank coached summer travel teams and guided his teams to 2 ASA State Championship titles and 3 ASA National Tournament appearances
Steve Frank
Chi-Hi Varsity Assistant Coach
As a player he was voted ASA All-American 3 times and ASA All-World 4 times. During the summer he helps coach the Chippewa Valley Flash travel team. He also coached 9 years in the Hallie Girls Softball organization.

Ashley Perterson
Chi-Hi Junior Varsity Head Coach
Coach  Peterson recently joined the Chi-Hi staff this year and is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire. During her high school days she played middle infield for Eau Claire North high school. While attending college she returned to ECN as a varsity  assistant coach.
Coach Peterson also played softball in the  Hallie Girls Softball organization for 9 years. She now teaches in the Chippewa School district and we are very excited to have her as part of the Chi-Hi staff.
Kevin Malnory
Chi-Hi Junior Varsity Assistant Coach
Coach Malnory was the Chi-Hi pitching coach for a number of years and helped coach the Cardinals to 2 Big Rivers Conference Championships and also 2 WIAA State Tournament appearances.
This year he has returned as a JV assistant coach. Coach Malnory has coached summer travel ball teams and  also coached in the Hallie Girls Softball organization for 9 years.
Coach Faherty is in his 5th year as the Chi-Hi head Varsity Coach. Prior to the head coaching position he spent 6 years as the JV head coach. 
He has helped coach the  Chi-Hi Cardinals to 8 Big Rivers Conference Championships and 7 WIAA State Tournament appearances. Prior to joining the Chi-Hi staff he was the head softball coach for West Salem High School. He also spent time as an assistant coach for UW-LaCrosse. During the summer Faherty coaches the Chippewa Valley Flash travel team.
